DOGSTAR'S FAIR WORK STATEMENT
Fair Work
We welcome the prioritisation by the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland of Fair Work principles and the recognition of the challenges faced by our sector in applying them. Dogstar has always been determined to treat those who work with the company fairly. We are proud of the fact that Dogstar has always used industry agreements, usually paying staff above industry minimums and never going below them. We have never asked anyone working for Dogstar to carry out unpaid duties.
Dogstar Theatre is a member of The Independent Theatre Council (ITC) and the Federation of Scottish Theatre (FST) and we abide by their negotiated agreements with various unions. ITC negotiates minimum rates of pay on behalf of its members with the appropriate unions for: administrative staff, choreographers, designers, directors, fight directors, performers, stage managers and writers. We have never and will never use zero hours contracts.
